1999) As I read the Gospels, I am amazed how the people reacted to Jesus, the one who claimed to be (and is) the Messiah. Their reaction is often found within the question, could this be the promised Messiah? I can understand this question. After all, they had waited hundreds of years for him.  

Jesus and other New Testament writers tell us he is coming again. Matthew 24:42, for example.  

Jesus said, “I am” and promises, “I will.” You can count on it, even if it takes hundreds of years. Are you ready for him when he comes again? Romans 10:13.
