1994) Our view of God determines how we act and react to things we experience each day.
For example, Psalm 23:2 tells us God gives us green pastures to rest in and brings us water gently to sustain us. These and so much more are things God gives us, but when the bad, difficult and deadly things come our way, we need to realize that God is not the author of them and yet; he allows them. There is a distinction here. God gives good and allows bad.
What kind of God allows such suffering and pain in this life? The hard answer is, a God who always wants what’s best for us and this “best” can sometimes be horrific.
In John 16:33 Jesus tells us there will be trouble in this world but it is only temporary. It will come to an end. It takes faith to hold on to this.
It is freeing to realize God gives us good and allows difficult things to come our way for a better good we may never see in this life.
Hold on, just a little while longer.
