1972) At this point in my life, I find it difficult to hear my husband’s voice while riding in a car. The low rumble the tires make blends with his voice and the result is, I only hear bits and pieces. Hearing can be a tricky thing in other areas, too. Perhaps the person is speaking with an accent or they mumble. Perhaps the person communicating has a plugged nose and their speech isn’t sharp enough for you to follow what they’re trying to say. I think you get my point. In John 10:27, Jesus refers to hearing. He said, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” As I ponder Jesus’ words and am reminded it is very difficult to hear someone if they’re far away from us. When you move closer, his voice can be heard and pondered better. |
If your spiritual ears don’t seem to be hearing as good as they should be, perhaps it would be prudent to move closer to the speaker.
