The First Versus the Next

1946) When Jesus walked on this earth and wore the title, The Messiah, he surprised many at the time. Most were expecting Messiah to be a political liberator instead of the spiritual one he came to be. Grace abides and washes over us right now because of this. Rejoice!

Yet, Matthew 7:23 reminds us Jesus will not be this type of Savior the second time he comes. He will be the just judge. He will separate the sheep from the goats. He will look in the book of life and see if our names are there, covered by the blood of a savior who died for this purpose.

Sometimes we misunderstand Jesus’ coming in a similar way to how many did during the days Jesus walked the earth. There will be a time when it’s too late to get the grace and forgiveness of God. There will be a time when the door is closed. There will be a time when it’s too late.

If you’re told God your sorry for all you have done wrong and admit you deserve a separation from a holy God. If you’ve asked for God to substitute Jesus’ death for yours, you’re ready for Jesus’ second coming.

Get Ready! The “next” is different than the “first.”
