1945) In the hallway where my classroom is located, there is a support pole in the direct line between my room and the water fountain and office. I can’t tell you how many times my young scholars have been carrying on with friends, not paying attention to where they’re going and boing, they run into the pole. Fortunately, no one has been hurt; they usually break out into laughter.
There are different routes where we need to watch where we’re going. Proverbs 4:25 tells us we need to keep our focus forward. I’m wondering if God meant we are to see the here and now and the pathway to the future and not walk around looking over our shoulders.
It’s easy to keep looking back at all we’ve experienced and then, wham, we run into a “pole”. It is often more productive to keep our sights on the now that leads to tomorrow.
