1918) If you spent time going through the Old Testament, there are 613 laws or observances listed to enable Israel to function better as a nation. I don’t know about you, but that’s a lot for me to take in. It’s a good thing the prophet Micah boiled everything down into three things.
In Micah 6:8, we are reminded that God wants us to act justly. This word, justly, in the Hebrew can be translated to making sure righteous judgments are made and acted upon.
The second thing is to love mercy; the grace we can give someone whose actions don’t deserve it.
The final thing is to walk humbly with God. Walking here means to be in step with him and we are to do it with humility. This means behaving like God but doing it quietly or not seeking to be seen doing these things by others.
Working on just these three things can change the world around you and then, ultimately, everywhere else.
