1902) Light at this time of the year is limited in Maine. It gets dark early and the morning light is reluctant to shine. This gets me thinking about what light does for me. It allows me to see where I’m going (or what pitfalls to avoid). Light allows me to drive through snow and ice-covered roads safely. Light helps me see properly so I can work. Light brings me warmth and enables me to read and expand my mind. Light allows these things and so much more.  

Reflecting on this (sorry, no pun intended), John 8:12 is significant. Here, Jesus said he is the Light of the World. This means that in my abbreviated list above, his name can be substituted for light. His light is so valuable.  

Why would anyone reject a Light which literally brings life? One reason may be because a person may not know what is offered to them. This is where we must regularly reflect the light which shines in our lives.
