1898) A few years ago, I met with a special group of people to sing and learn about singing for 2 ½ hours every week. We were a group who loved music and the challenge was to become better. It was also a time to laugh.
As we were organizing our group, it became necessary to get some members involved in record-keeping, finances for a hall to rehearse in and new music. We also needed a secretary, and I’m proud to say; I had the privilege to fill that role.
Because I was the secretary, our fearless, multi-talented leader would be in regular touch with me to make announcements, send out music and more. Because weekly rehearsals were so important to all of us, I decided to spice up the announcement emails with humor and a little insight. I am so grateful for this time of joy, and part of it was because I discovered how important laughter can be.
Sometimes, as God’s children, it might seem that laughter and times of delight should not hold a place of importance, but I have discovered it’s a necessity.
Ecclesiastes 5:4 tells us there is a time for laughter. Don’t overlook this important thing!
