1888) I am someone who will do just about anything to avoid confrontation. I know the reasons why so, in a sense, I use them to justify not confronting others when necessary. Yet, Jesus commands we do this, and he’s very specific about how it is to be carried out.
Matthew 18:15-20 tells us when a fellow believer has wronged us, we are to confront them; just me and them. Jesus does not tell us we can vent to others, hoping to gain an edge by them agreeing with my feelings of being wronged. Jesus also goes on to explain what to do after we have attempted this reconciliation.
The idea of confronting someone whom I believe has wronged me is difficult, but faith tells me this is the better choice.
