1799) We all are known for certain things. Sometimes it’s positive. Yes, he’s a hard worker. Yes, she’s a great listener. Sometimes it’s negative. No, he does a job half-way and then never finishes it. No, you better not confide in her because then everyone will know what you told her in confidence.
Jesus points out a characteristic he thinks is important. He said, Let your yes be yes and your no be no. Matthew 5:37. In other words, be a person of your word.
Do you do what you say you’re going to do? Do you arrive at an event on time? Do you stick to your principles? All these things shape the reputation you have forged for yourself and if you’re God’s child, these things all shape how others view God. Why? Because your reputation reflects on those you have a relationship with.
