1872) When I was in high school, one of my favorite things to do in English class was creative writing assignments. Here I could let my imagination flow. I still have some of my work where my teachers wrote on them what a talented writer I was becoming. College kind of squelched this because of time and purpose.
Fast forward 20 years and I began working on my Master’s degree. I discovered then that even with academic writing, I could still garnish them with creativity. Many of my professors told me my papers were the first they read and graded because they knew they’d be good and refreshing. Some even told me I should consider writing full-time.
Their encouragement, those from my current classroom and my past classes gave me the encouragement to pursue writing as a career. I may never have circled back to what I started in high school without this.
God knows encouragement is powerful. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 tells us we need to encourage others. Who knows, maybe your words today can open doors no one could imagine
