1865) There are times in this life when we need to have input from others. This is a tricky thing because what Saul Bellow said is true. “When we ask for advice, we are usually looking for an accomplice.” It is tempting to seek out those who will agree with us on a particular issue. Does this mean we can’t ask our friends for advice, even when they may agree with what we may be leaning toward? I don’t think so. Proverbs 11:14 tells us it is wise to consult an abundance of counselors. Does this mean we need to speak to all we know about a particular subject? Again, I don’t think so. I think part of the wisdom from this verse is to seek out a few wise people on serious issues.
We were never meant to live life on our own. We do need each other. Being wise about whom we rely on is important.
