I Want to Hold Your Hand

1858) There was a time once when I was overwhelmed with the grief of a circumstance that was highly painful.  The person who came to help me said nothing; they just held my hand and didn’t let go.

Though I have never been a touchy feely kind of person, this act of compassion helped me calm down. There’s such comfort in this and when I read Isaiah 41:13, I smile.

For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” (ESV)

God holds out his hand to us if we can, by faith, take it. He wants to hold our hand and calm and comfort us.
