Water Balloons

1791) At the end of the school year, I usually have an afternoon that is set aside to honor the highest class in our school because they will move on to another school the following year. I have water balloon games, egg toss, silly string wars and more.

To get ready for the event, I spend an hour before school getting the water balloons filled. As I fill them, I add the balloons to the 5-gallon bucket I have and then I move them out to the field. Some of the balloons don’t make it out there whole.

It’s interesting that when I pick up a water balloon, some will have a tiny shot of water that becomes bigger as the water drains from their skins. This is exactly what the writer of Proverbs 17:14 warns of.

He says that when you argue with others; it needs to stop right away because, like the water balloon, the hole will get bigger, as will the dispute.

When you see a small stream of discord, stop it now.
