1730) I recently gave a brief writing assignment to my young scholars. They had to succinctly describe three things they are good at and three they are not. When I walked around the room, it didn’t surprise me they quickly provided me with three things they couldn’t do well and struggled to list the things they excelled at.
When you’re in your second decade of life, it may be hard to identify what you do well, but as adults, we can evaluate these things. Do you know what you’re good at; the gifts God has given you? Why is this important?
1 Timothy 4:14 tells us not to neglect the gifts God has given us. He gave them to us to be used, not just reflected on in a brief writing assignment.
If you’re organized, you can help others who struggle with it. If you’re a natural leader, what are you doing with this ability? If you’re hospitable, are you using this gift to help others when they are in difficult circumstances?
