Fatal Attractions

1718) When I am writing these minutes, I search concordances and such to find verses to examine with you and today; I found Matthew 24:28 and was astonished I had never noticed it before, or at least, it never caused me to read and pause. What does it say?

Where the corpse is, there the vultures will gather. Wow! Yes, I’ve seen roadkill and turkey vultures gorging on it but I had never associated this with real life.

Why is it that some people, when another has “fallen” or behaved badly, gather and seem to rejoice in gorging themselves on the fallibility of another? Have you seen it? It’s a fatal attraction.

It’s easy to see the vultures gorging themselves at someone else’s expense, but can you be humble enough to notice when you do the same thing?

It’s never a good thing to rejoice in the downfall of others. Perhaps it would be better to avoid roadkill all together.
