The Value of Easy

1688) If something is easy, does it have great value? The answer is no. Why? Because if something is easy, everyone would do it and in comparing it to supply and demand, you get the point. Besides, it’s my experience that anything that starts out easy doesn’t stay that way. Life has a way of complicating your “easy” – boredom, lack of a “market” for your specific easy, dissatisfaction from not having to work toward a goal and more.

Jesus knew about the value of easy and he included it in his Sermon on the Mount. Matthew 7:13-14 tells us the “wide” gate (the easy way to salvation – which isn’t really legitimate) is taken by most but the harder, more difficult gate (the narrow one) only a few do. Why? When someone has given their life for yours, you owe them your life; a great and difficult commitment.

The only good thing about easy is that it’s easy.
