1685) Many of us know, by memory, the fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22-23. In case you cannot list them all, they are: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. What I’d like to look at here is the law of the seed.
The law of the seed says simply, whatever you plant, that’s what you grow. Yes, the above-mentioned fruits should be evident in our lives because our roots are of the Spirit’s. But have you ever considered this list is exactly what God’s actions are toward us? How freeing this thought can be.
God loves us. Rejoices over us. Is at peace with us through salvation. God is patient with us. He treats us with kindness and goodness. He is faithful always to us. He treats us gently and his actions are always under control.
When we closely examine God’s word, we can see a perspective we may not have considered.
