1678) When I was just starting out in my serious pursuit of writing, I read it might be interesting to switch stories or circumstances around and see what your creativity can produce. For example, instead of writing about a child being afraid of what they may find under their bed, write about the monster under the bed who is afraid of the child.

Sometimes changing our thinking around like this is helpful. I thought of this as I read Colossians 3:23. Here we are told Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. It’s obvious we need to throw ourselves into whatever God has given us to do, yet, if I change my perspective, I can see something new.

What if God also meant in this verse that my work for God doesn’t mean working to exhaustion? What if it means quitting a job others believe is “perfect” for me? What if it means I need to make a stand in work others deem is fine just the way it is?

Reverse perspective can be helpful. Why not try it out?
