1662) A huge amount of time ago, I walked down the aisle to marry my best friend. Though I didn’t wear a traditional veil, I had one because of the meaning of it.
As I think about it now, veils are a good thing to include in a wedding because they symbolize being separated from your spouse-to-be. When you get married and move the veil from the face of the bride, it indicates that nothing now is separating the two of you.
I thought of this when I read Matthew 27:50-51. Here, when Jesus died on the cross, the veil separating the Holy Place from the Holy of Holies in the Temple ripped from top to bottom.
Because of this, we no longer have to be separated from God; if we are washed in the blood of the lamb, we can come to him at any time about anything.
If there is a veil on your heart, let Jesus move it for you and the wedding take place.
