1652) My young scholars frequently act on impulse. It goes with the territory. I’ll have two kids bickering and I know it can quickly escalate. If I were to ask one kid why they said or did something in retaliation, I’ll often hear: “He/she made me so mad.”
Now, you and I know that even when someone makes us angry, we still choose our actions, but even for us, what other people do can really throw us. I think that’s why Proverbs 17:14 is important.
This verse admonishes us to stop disagreements, anger, and strife right away because they can escalate into a large conflict. This, unfortunately, happens in a lot of families and wedges of this nature can fracture relationships permanently.
The next time a certain someone makes you mad, stop it before the damage is too great. This price of carrying a grudge is high.
