I Am Examined

1643) There are many verses in the Bible which use the phrase, “I Am”. Exodus 3:14 reveals God says it and there are many references in the New Testament where Jesus says, “I Am.” John 14:6, for example.

Have you ever taken the time to examine the phrase, “I Am?” I can dig into website after website that closely examines these words but I struggle to find the time to do that deep of a dive. I can think about what God and Jesus do not say. They do not say, “I Was” or “I Will Be”. Both would be limiting.

In saying, “I AM,” it is a simple statement that carries a lot of weight. God/Jesus said I Am, meaning I have always been, I am currently and will always be. There are not gaps of time when God is taking a nap and is not aware of us or doing all the things he does.

Everything else on this earth is temporary and though our souls will continue on after this life, unlike God, we had a beginning, started by him.

Thank God that He Is.
