The Thumbprint of God

1639) As an older (or just plain old) educator, I get the pleasure of meeting and often teaching my former students’ kids. It’s uncanny how some of them look exactly like their parent did at the same age. That, of course, is because the children are the images of their parents.

We find in Genesis 1:27 that we are also children created in the image of God. We can find God’s thumbprint on all of us. This clear advertisement shows that the Creator’s work is found here.

If we are made in God’s image, then we should frequently consider how we treat ourselves and others. After all, if you do it to my child, you are doing it to me.

God has placed his thumbprint on all of mankind, whether they recognize it or not. If we look a little harder for this “print” perhaps it would be easier to treat ourselves and others with more respect.
