More Thank Enough

1635) There is a valuable gift you can give to yourself, others, and God; it is the gift of gratitude. I find there are many days when activities and demands on my time happen so quickly and, one after another; I yearn for silence. One such time occurs when I turn out the light and snuggle under the covers.

At this time, my mind runs through the events of the day and if I don’t guard against it, I start problem solving. The hard fact is, many of these “problems” are unsolvable. If I allow it, these thoughts can take over and I find my stress and anxiety levels climb.

In times like this, I have learned the best antidote for this downward spiral is to shift gears and thank God for everything that comes to mind. Depending on how tired I am will determine how long my list is.

This thanksgiving also reminds me I can be content because God has given me all the good things I have listed. I have more than enough. Hebrews 13:5
