1627) If someone asked me what are some of the most difficult things I know that God asks of us, I would list things like controlling anger or loving our enemies. I would not have listed the first command mentioned in Titus 3:2, though it truly should be at the top of our list of difficult things.
The first part of this verse tells us to speak evil of no one. How many? None. That is hard. It’s so easy to comment negatively about someone or to make them look bad, so I feel like I look better. In reality, when we speak evil about someone else, it doesn’t make us look good at all.
Our choice of words is within our control, so we must work hard to think before we speak.
