Speak Up

1611) As a teacher, I regularly see incredible things kids do. I’ve seen kindness, empathy, and unselfishness. I always smile when I see kids doing these things. There is something, however, I observe that disturbs me. When I see a student (or group of students) shun another, I immediately act. I don’t only take action against the one (ones) who are doing the shunning; I also speak to those who observed it and did nothing. This is because doing nothing is often as bad as the deed itself.

What about adults? Do we hear a group talking about someone else and we know it’s wrong but we do nothing? How about witnessing someone being taken advantage of? Do we stick up for them? How about when someone treats us poorly? Do we speak up for ourselves?

Proverbs 31:8-9 tells us to speak up and defend the rights of others.

Dare to speak up!
