Anger is like Velcro

1595) Do you know anyone who has a problem with anger? Has it been you, at certain times of your life?

Anger isn’t generally considered very “Christian” but, actually, anger in and of itself isn’t the slippery slope to Hades. Instead, it can be the catalyst for standing up for the underdog or spurring you on to setting healthy boundaries. It’s bad when anger urges us to make poor choices. I couldn’t help it! He just made me so mad. Jesus himself said anger that is not controlled can be murder. Matthew 5:21-25.

Another reason we should hold anger in check is because Ecclesiastes 7:9 says anger can lodge in our hearts. In other words, it can stick to us so tightly, like Velcro, and it becomes difficult to pull out of our lives.

If you know anyone who has a problem with anger, it isn’t a sign that this person is powerful and strong. It’s a sign that anger is powerful and strong in that person’s life. I can’t speak for you, but I’d rather not have anything else controlling me in this manner!

Be aware. Anger is like Velcro.
