1547) There are moments in life that are difficult and tragic. Perhaps it’s a loved one who is suffering with some physical illness. It could be the loss of a much-needed job. It may be the death of someone you were extremely close to. Most people understand any of these solemn events because they are things all of us have to deal with at one time or the other in this life.
Isaiah 43:2 also recognizes that we need to know God is near us when we go through deep waters and across busy rivers. God will be by our side during the burning fires of our lives and for these things, I am extremely grateful, but what about when I’m in a silent crisis?
Silent crises are the things hidden from others; the quiet drain of energy, feelings, and the gumption needed for everyday life. People rarely respond in the ways they would when the major life difficulties visit and because we don’t have the same support, it makes the silent crises very difficult to deal with. Is God also in the dark about these smaller stings?
If God commits to be with us through the waters, rivers and fires of life, he certainly will show up just the same for the crises of our hearts.
Though others may not be aware of your silent crises, God is and he cares.
