1529) When I was a kid, we would sing a song called Pass It On. It is a song whose notes I hear 50 years later. This song reminds us God loves us and we should pass it on to others.

We find this admonition to pass on to others what God has done for us in 1 Chronicles 16:8-9. Verse eight specifically urges us to tell the entire world what God has done for us, but I wonder if we’ve ever taken the time to think about why God wants us to do this? I think there are at least two reasons.

First, telling others what God has done for us can encourage them. If God has done this for them, then he can do it for me. Second, sharing what God has done also means we share what difficulties we are facing, and this is also powerful. It can help others recognize they are not alone; others struggle with the same things.

Passing on what God has done for us is helpful in so many ways.
