1487) Lying is a behavior that often takes root within without our knowledge. Some people have done it so long, they don’t even realize they’re lying. If you’re like me, you want to know why people lie, but in reality; it doesn’t really matter.
There are many types of lies. The ones my students try out on me are often easy to identify by watching their body language or because they’re not creative enough to wrap it in reasonableness. But then there are other lies that are far more deceptive because they contain an element of truth. Satan is the master of these types of lies.
One such lie is when Satan tries to convince us we are nothing and valueless. It’s effective because, if we’re honest with ourselves, we see the many bad choices we make; therefore, making this lie, truth (at least in our minds). The problem with this lie is it does not take grace under consideration. The two are not compatible. Grace wraps around us because of Jesus’ death and God’s acceptance of us after washing us by the lamb of God’s blood.
When Satan throws his lie at you that you’ll never be good enough for God, fight back with Romans 8:38-39. Here God reminds us that NOTHING can separate us from God. Not death. Not life. Not angels. Not demons. Not fear. Not worry. Not even the power of hell.
We are good enough for God’s grace because he offers it to us. We can benefit from it if we accept it.
Satan is a liar (John 8:44).
