1471) Sometimes I have felt ashamed of something I said or did. Who hasn’t? But have you considered that shame and remorse are two different things? Shame is something negative you feel about yourself where remorse is when you have done something wrong and you’re sorry about it. Shame is a lethal weapon Satan uses against us. It places us in a position of doom, feeling little hope.
Isaiah 54:4 gives hope to those of us who feel shame. It says that God remembers our shame no more. He doesn’t hold it against us. On top of that, whenever we confess our sins (remorse) he forgives them, too.
Shame is an unnecessary burden. Why don’t you set it down?
