Perspective

1462) Quite a while ago, I read Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. The Nazis sentenced Frankl, a psychiatrist, to Auschwitz (and several other camps) where he lost most of his family members. His insight into the human experience of suffering is powerful.

Frankl said, “Forces beyond your control can take away everything you possess except one thing: your freedom to choose how you will respond to the situation.”

Frankl’s words reflect the truth of Proverbs 15:15. This verse tells us that how we choose to look at the things that come our way each day will determine our outlook, happy or despondent.

Perspective is a gift from God, who has given us the freedom of how we use it. May we choose to use it for the benefit of ourselves and those we are around.
