You are a Minister

1457) Sometimes we can get the idea that to be a Christian who is successfully doing the work of God, we need to be in full-time Christian service, like the chaplain in my novel, The Bottle House. This thought, thankfully, is not true. We can be a minister to God every day. How?

In Romans 12:15, Paul reveals a ministry you may not have considered. This verse says, Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. (NIV) In showing empathy to those around us, we are actually ministering to others. Sometimes, just knowing someone else is happy or hurting with us is the greatest gift.

Take the time to minister to others by rejoicing or mourning with them.
