1454) I’m a pretty good cook; at least that’s what my husband and dinner guests have said. BUT, for some reason, which makes no sense to me, I cannot make good brownies. I know! You would think this would be a breeze. Oh, well…I can make other things instead.
As I think about cooking and recipes, I know whatever I’m preparing must be ready before I take it out of the pot or oven and serve. Doing so before this makes a delicious meal anything but.
Jesus made it known to his disciples and us in John 14:1-2 that he will go to heaven to prepare a place for those who have been washed in the blood of grace and forgiveness. These words hold so much promise and love and yet, we don’t want to overlook verse 3, where Jesus tells us when everything is ready, he will come and get us. Not before. When everything is ready.
The wonderful thing about God is his timing is perfect. The difficult thing about God is his timing is perfect, not ours. We use faith to help us trust that God always does things at the right time.
