Free isn’t Free

1413) When there are sales at local businesses, I’ll sometimes see, buy one, get one free and variations of this. It’s smart to feature these sort of sales because people find a good deal hard to pass up. If you take a moment, however, to think about these deals, they often are not really free at all. Why? Because buying one and getting one free really works out to be a small discount on two objects and these advertisers also know once you’re in their store, you’re likely to buy other things.

God tells us of a prudent business tactic that also proves worthwhile in our personal lives and that is, giving to someone else reaps more rewards than if you simply receive this gift.

Giving to others, with no strings attached, is a smart spiritual move, but it’s one that’s not free. It costs you, but it’s worth it! Acts 20:35.
