Follow the Leader

1411) There are times at school when I take my kids outside and we play some games like I did when I was their age. We’ll play Duck, Duck, Goose or Tag and sometimes Jump the Creek. It is interesting to me how much fun the kids have just playing these simple games.

There is another game I’ll play with my students and that’s, Follow the Leader. As the name implies, I’ll appoint a leader and everyone must follow and do as they’re led to. The more unusual things the leader does, the more the kids like it.

Following the leader, God, takes us in directions that bring rewards and contentment. Jesus said specifically in Luke 6:35that we are to follow him in loving our enemies. Why should we do this? Because this is what God does and in following his example, others will learn of the mercy and goodness of God.

Dare to follow THE leader; rewards will follow.
