Glory Days

1385) What things motivate you? If someone were to ask me this, I’d have to ask them in what area of life are you referring to? What motivates me in my writing is the joy and awe that stirs within when God guides my fingers on my keyboard and then I see what God has used me to write. What motivates me in my sewing room is the joy I will have seeing my finished creation. You get the point.

Considering what motivates us as Christians, 1 Corinthians 10:31 tells us of the ultimate motivation and that is, in everything we do, think and say, we are to do it out of praise (glory) for God and all he’s done for us.

If this is true, I also consider that when I make poor choices, I am moving the praise from God and placing in on myself. After all, when I choose to do wrong, I am calling the shots, therefore; I am in charge. It is like when the children of Israel worshipped Baal instead of God. That gets my attention.

As we approach each day, let us do things for God’s praise and glory and not our own.
