1381) If you were asked to describe God, what words would you use? I would come up with things like, God is honest, he is just, he is righteous and other such things. These are true, but David seems to have a deeper understanding of God than I do. His words are more pointed and paint a bigger picture of God than mine.

David says in Psalm 36:5-6 that God loves us with an unfailing love as vast as the heavens. God’s faithfulness to us is so large, it reaches the sky. God’s righteousness is like the biggest mountains and his justice is as deep as the sea.  

If I take some time to meditate on each of these descriptions, my heart sings out in thanksgiving.

Even though God literally is beyond our description, he loves it when we try to understand him as much as we are capable of.
