Being Heard

1372) During any school day, my name must be called out no fewer than 100 times. It is not unusual to hear it shouted out by two or three kids at once. When this happens, I will often say, “One at a time, please,” and the kids compete against each other as to who I will listen to first. Though I love that my kids come to me with questions and concerns, it often gets overwhelming and I long for a few minutes of solitude.

Psalm 34:17 tells us when we cry out to God, he hears us–even if there are millions calling out to him at the same time. He can listen to each of our prayers and he always responds to them. He never tires of hearing his name, especially when his children need him.

Isn’t it wonderful God is not hard of hearing? Does he hear from you?
