1354) Being part of a group or family is important. We have this place within us that agrees when God said in Genesis 2:18 it is not good for man to be alone. God has put within us the desire to belong and be accepted by others.

Because we are fallible, we don’t always attempt to encourage relationships with others or we can involve ourselves within groups which are not good ones to be grounded in. Yet this desire to belong comes from God and in 1 Samuel 12:22, we read God wants us to belong in his family. He welcomes everyone with open arms if we’ll come to him.

Coming to God does not just apply to receiving salvation; it also means we come to him with everything. He wants a relationship with us. He wants to know what we’re doing, how we’re feeling and anything else we care to share.

The good news is, a Christian does belong to God and God wants us to build relationships with others. Trust God when he says this is good.
