1337) In my classroom, I have learned that everyone can be motivated if you discover what they value or are interested in. Currently, in my classroom, I find the kids will do almost anything in a class period if they know they will get to watch a 2-minute video of animals doing amazing or silly things. I tap into this when I can because we all are more motivated to do things if we know we’ll receive something we want.
I think of this motivation when I read Titus 3:3-8. In the first two verses here, Paul tells us there are many wrong things he has put behind him, but you have to read further to find out what motivated him.
Verses 4-8 tell us that despite all Paul had done wrong, God showed him kindness and love. Paul speaks of the salvation God gave him, the worst of sinners. (1 Timothy 1:15). Paul knew and experienced grace and because of these things, and out of gratitude, his desire is to do what God commands him.
If I periodically take the time to reflect on what God did and does for me, I am much more motivated to live a life that glorifies God. Dare to take the time.
