Mr. Do-Bee

1324) When I was small, we had a little black-and-white TV in our home. I can remember watching some children’s programs in my pre-school years. One of them was Romper Room. I don’t remember too much about the show, but I can recall a character named Mr. Doo-Bee. This bumble bee would model things we needed to be, such as children using good manners, children being well-behaved, etc.

The good news is, modeling behaviors for children has a powerful effect. The bad news is, modeling behaviors for children has a powerful effect. Everything we do, good and bad, affects children but also other people.

Paul knew this truth and addresses it in Titus 3:1-2. He gives a short list of things God’s children should do and a few that should not be done. Why? Because he knew that all of our behaviors affect other people. Regular self-assessment is important.
