Last Days: Brutality

1311) I enjoy going to the zoo and have discovered there is a difference between an “animal” zoo and a “people” zoo. The animal zoos are ones that have large, open habitats for the animals and you watch them at a distance. The animals are comfortable because they are in environments that are like their natural habitats. The people zoos I’ve attended have the animals in small cages with little habitat considered. You can see these animals up close because they don’t have a choice where they spend their time. These animals are more agitated and they often display violent behaviors.

When I read in 2 Timothy 3:3 that people in the last days would be brutal, my research revealed this word can also be translated as aggressively hostile, just like the animals in small cages.

It’s obvious we are living in a hostile world. Brutality is seen not only in big cities but also in children’s ball games. There’s looting, robbing, screaming, hollering, fighting, name calling and mass shootings. Paul tells us this is a sign of the last days. We need to guard ourselves and not join the hostility.

Because of all I see, I can’t help but pray the prayer of John. “Even so, come Lord Jesus!” (Revelation 22:20)
