1296) I read a delightful novel, The Remember Box by Patricia Sprinkle, and wrote a line found within in my quote book. The line is: Folks can’t get your goat, ‘less you tell ‘em where it’s tied.
My using this bit of wisdom doesn’t work within my classroom as my kids don’t know what “get your goat” means, but adults sure do.
Paul reveals in 2 Timothy 2:24 that we should not be resentful toward others. This means we need to forgive others’ “trespasses” but we can also avoid the need to forgive by not allowing someone to “get our goat.”
Relationships are hard. Why not set the stage for better ones by refusing to allow resentment to set down roots within our hearts?
