1275) One book I use in my 6th grade is Shipwreck at the Bottom of the World by Jennifer Armstrong. It is the true story of Ernest Shackleton and his ill-fated trip to Antarctica. This book reveals time after time when he and all of his men should have died. They survived intense cold and wind, starvation, the extremes of the elements and so much more. After 16 months, Shackleton arrives at the whaling station on South Georgia Island and his body was in such poor shape, no one recognized him. When he reveals himself, everyone is astonished.
When Jesus became a man, he started at the beginning of life and was born. Just pause and think if I asked you what the King of all the universe looked like, you probably would not describe a baby. No wonder so many could not recognize the son of God. BUT, the angels did.
1 Timothy 3:16 tells us the angels saw Jesus. This word seen is better translated, recognized. These angels knew immediately this little baby was God’s son and shared this message with others.
If we are God’s children, God’s spirit lives within us. Do others recognize him in you?
