1274) “Don’t judge me!” is a phrase we typically hear these days. What I think the meaning behind this statement is, don’t determine my value or criticize my choices. For me, the judgment I hear frequently is heaped upon me by myself. All I have to do is take a moment’s break from whatever I’m doing and then, with no effort, I take my inventory and my thumb is always on the scales.
Isn’t it good news that God does not judge us in this manner? It’s interesting, though, in 1 Timothy 3:16, we see Jesus was. It tells us the Spirit judged and then vindicated Jesus. Why? Because God is a just God and he has a standard he expects people to meet. If the story ended there, we would have no hope, but we do!
The Spirit judged Jesus, found to be perfect and blameless and then, his sacrificial death in our place could be accepted.
We don’t need to spend our time judging others or ourselves because God can vindicate us because of Jesus.
