1258) Everyone handles stress differently. Lately, I’ve been investigating the signs that my body is in distress. First, my stomach feels the beginnings of acid creeping in. Next, my abdominal muscles contract and my breathing becomes faster, denying my body the oxygen it needs because these breaths are too shallow. Finally, my heart rate goes up. When these things continue to build according to circumstances, my body yearns for relief. I have also discovered I desire relief from the things of this life that cause these body sensations.
In these moments, I cry out to God to end these situations and sensations. I just want them gone and the good news is, they will be. 2 Thessalonians 1:7 tells us these things will end when Jesus returns to the earth and gathers his children. The hard news is, this may not be soon.
This is when we have to let go of the things that bring us stress, knowing it does nothing helpful within our bodies and also because when Jesus comes, these types of things will end.
What a relief!
