1240) There are so many things out there that are marketed by emphasizing a particular “thing” will bring comfort to your life. Is there any truth in these claims? Perhaps, but I only believe it’s to a certain extent. The problem with this type of comfort is it doesn’t soothe for very long. In the moment, it can make us feel this desired state of being, but it is short-lived.
In 1 Thessalonians 2:12, Paul tells us that the eternal source of comfort comes from God. I must admit, however, this statement brings up questions within my soul. If God is the true source of comfort, why do I feel so “uncomfortable” regularly? The answer that whispers in return is we can experience it throughout life by recognizing that the bad things that happen are temporary; God has a home prepared for his children that will allow nothing bad, anything impure, anything that is contrary to his perfect heaven.
Standing on the faith that God will keep his word brings a comfort that is not fleeting; one that will exist for eternity.
