1233) I never played much with dolls growing up; it just wasn’t my thing. Through the years, there were many dolls that were scrutinized because they were too “perfect” in the anatomical sense. They would be supermodels in real life. These dolls aside, have you ever considered that as a follower of Christ, we too should be “supermodels?”
Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 1:7 we should be models to all believers (and, I think we can also include nonbelievers, too). When I think of this, the self-judgment I have loves to kick in. You are sure no model for others! Look at this, this and this you did just today.
I’ve written about this self- judgment many times, but my mind swings in the other direction today. Maybe it’s true this self-judgment is warranted, but it occurs to me I can also model repentance, the joy of forgiveness I receive and the humility that comes from the fact God still wants me as his child.
We are all models in this life. Don’t forget that modeling the biblical truths of forgiveness, grace and mercy are important, too.
