1225) For many years I have been on the recipient end of teaching, whether it be as a student, a member of a congregation or as a teacher receiving professional development. Because of this, I can tell right away if the speaker is an effective teacher.
In college, we debated whether someone is a born teacher or a teacher who has learned their way around a classroom. Either way, to be an effective teacher, you have to learn to communicate effectively. Do you use the known to help your students learn about the unknown? Do you have the ability to adapt to your audience so the information you’re trying to impart will “hit the target?” Do you demonstrate the very things you seek to teach to others?
Paul instructs us to teach one another with wisdom. This is a high calling and responsibility, but have you considered that your life is a teaching tool? You communicate to others daily how to live a godly life or not. Colossians 3:16.
